Barbara Birkitt

Barbara Birkitt came to real estate from the world of high tech. A successful sales and marketing executive with Digital Equipment Corporation, Barbara was a member of the team that launched DEC.s line of personal computers. Ultimately she was promoted to District Operations Manager with P&L responsibility for $120 million in business.

Barbara earned her real estate license in 1989 and joined Lois Schneider Realtor in 1995. She received her Broker's License in 2009. Managing a staff of ten, her current focus is on the efficient operation of our busy office and on the development and execution of various corporate communications initiatives. Barbara also recently received her Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager Designation (CRB). The CRB is recognized industry-wide as the measure of success for real estate brokers and managers.

A native of New Jersey, Barbara lived in Manhattan before moving to the Summit area over 20 years ago. She has a passion for life that is reflected in both her leisure and volunteer activities. She is an avid walker and participated in the Avon Three-Day Breast Cancer Walk in 2001. She has been involved with both Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children and the New Jersey Development School for Youth and served as a member of the Family Council of the Daughters of Israel Residence Home. Barbara was a Board Member of the Suburban Community Music Center, and currently is a Notary for the State of New Jersey. Barbara also served on the 2007 Reunion Committee for Livingston High School.
